Here's one way to bring "ever green" into your home at the holidays without a pine tree!
This junking project was devised by the Robolady, Margo Arrick, who is allergic to spruce!
Margo was inspired by a driftwood tree she saw at Winnie & Tulula's in Athens, Texas, where she is a vintage dealer.
To build this beauty, Margo used 19 spindles plus a finial on top and a base.
"My base is wood but an iron base from an old lamp would be nice," she said, or even an umbrella stand or a traditional tree stand.
This is the latest in Margo's series of unusual trees for Christmas, inspired not only by her allergies, but also by her dislike of having to decorate (and undecorate!) a huge artificial tree unassisted!
The driftwood tree, as well as other inspiration from the Pinterest universe, motivated Margo to try something new!
"I decided to make it one afternoon last year, and it's been sitting in my barn all summer waiting for Christmas to roll around again," she said.
Margo sells tutorials on her blog, and there's one for this tree here, but you can also draw a forest full of inspiration from her Pinterest board of unusual Christmas trees!
Happy junking to all, and to all a good night!
